"The Decision" is finally over and LeBron James is heading south. I think it is a great move by James. He is at a point in his career where he knows he needs to win championships and he thinks he has the best chance with the Miami Heat. James is already feeling the backlash from fans, and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. I figured this would happen as James was in a no-win situation. He would be criticized for whatever decision he made, but in the end, James wanted to be on a team with his closest friends and a team, in his mind, that could win multiple championships. Fans always complain about athletes only caring about the money, but James took less money to play for the Heat.
I know if LeBron James wins a championship, his critics will say he needed two other all-stars to do it and couldn't win one on his own, but I don't think James cares about that. James has won his MVP's and scoring titles, but he wants a ring and he probably felt he couldn't accomplish anymore in Cleveland. Unfortunately, this decision will follow him the rest of his career, but if LeBron is able to win a couple of championships, his legacy will still stay intact.
