The ACC announced on Tuesday that Greivis Vasquez earned the 2010 ACC Player of the Year and Gary Williams was voted the 2010 ACC Coach of the Year.
Vasquez becomes the fifth University of Maryland player to earn ACC Player of the Year honors and the first since Juan Dixon earned the award in 2002. Albert King won in 1980, Len Bias earned the award twice in 1985 and 1986, and Joe Smith won in 1995.
Coach Williams has now won the award twice, the first coming in the 2002 national championship season. Also of note, Jordan Williams finished second in the ACC Rookie of the Year race.
I had to put this picture up. Matt Wieters will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated that is released on Wednesday. Wieters becomes the first Oriole in more than 13 years to grace the cover of SI.
