Chicken Box Friday!

Happy Chicken Box Friday! A topic of discussion lately on the show has involved a pair of outfielders for the Orioles: Felix Pie and Nolan Reimold.  There are a large amounts of people who remember what Pie did in August and September and forget what he did the first 4 months of the season.  Pie had a hard time earning at-bats in June and July because rookie Nolan Reimold cemented himself in left field.  I think Andy MacPhail did the right thing this offseason when Pie was brought up in trade talks.  MacPhail said that he has three outfielders (Adam Jones, Pie, Reimold) who have yet to play 162 games in a season.  All good teams have depth, and the Orioles are finally building their team that way.  If Pie plays well, (hit a homerun and a triple in his spring training debut) Dave Trembley will find a way to put his name in the lineup.  Reimold can DH against left-handed pitchers, and Trembley has the luxury to rest Jones and Nick Markakis without the fear of a big dropoff.  The hope is that the Orioles are playing well in August-September, and with 4 healthy outfielders, the risk of tiring at the end of the season will be less.  This is a good problem to have, and fans should not be taking sides between Pie and Reimold.

Here is a rundown of today's guests:

Charles Davis:  The NFL Network analyst breaks down free agency

Scott Miller:  The CBSSports.com MLB writer talks baseball and previews the Orioles.

Charley Toomey:  The Loyola lacrosse head coach talks about his team.

Because the Jets were active they picked up Cromarite..Granted he has his fair share off field issues (but NFL player doesn't)be his an all-pro-caliber corner. My Point is the Ravens by any means necessary need to sign Brandon Marshall. If the let him go, they will most certainly regret it.

I am on the side of keeping Pie and Reimold. If anyone had to go I would rather it be Luke Scott. I like Luke and all but he doesn't IMO fit in on the plans. I would rather have Montanez on the team. I have no hard feelings towards Luke but he is the epitomy of a streaky hitter whether it be for good or bad. Lastly the club from what I see is moving away from the one dimensional type of position players. Just my opinion.

@Richard: I agree with you, that is why they did not make a push for a guy like Jim Thome. They know that Nolan Reimold and Matt Weiters will DH at least a total of 60-65 games combined.
