Another great weekend in sports. I have admitted that I am not a huge hockey fan, but the Olympics have made me rethink that. I was entertained every time I watched team USA play and yesterday's loss to Canada was one of the best games I have watched in any sport. I do not know if I will take the momentum from the Olympics and watch the NHL, but for the last three weeks, I came to appreciate the game of hockey. However, the game that grabbed my attention over the weekend was Maryland's victory at Virginia Tech. Greivis Vasquez again proved that he should be considered seriously for the ACC Player of the Year. Vasquez scored 41 points in the double-overtime win and has now moved into third-place on the all-time scoring list at Maryland. Duke is coming to College Park Wednesday night on Senior Night and with first place on the line in what could turn out to be an instant classic. I think a victory and a well played game by Vasquez will go a long way in helping him become the player of the year. Vasquez has struggled throughout his career against the Blue Devils, and to win that award, Vasquez must step up on the big stage.
