Monday on The Rob Long Show
A stunning victory

I have admitted many times that I am not a huge hockey fan, but last night's game between USA and Canada was as an exciting game as a person will watch.  The U.S. started quickly by scoring 41 seconds into the contest and even though Canada outshot the United States 45-23 and lost 5-3, the game never seemed close.  The Americans are the number one seed as they advance to the quarterfinals for their game on Tuesday.

Thank you Cliff Tucker!  The junior hit the game winning shot Saturday against Georgia Tech in what became a crazy 10 seconds at College Park.  Tucker has had an up-and-down three years at Maryland as he has great games, but often times disappearing and wondering what his role is.  The Terps have a tough three game stretch coming up with games against Clemson, Virginia Tech and Duke so Saturday's win was huge as they try to keep pace in the ACC.

Here is a rundown of today's guests:

Oliver Purnell:  The Clemson head basketball coach talks about the Tigers' season.

Steve Yanda:  The Washington Post writer gives his thoughts on the Terps.

Kevin Goldstein:  The Baseball Prospectus writer previews the 2010 MLB season.

About time you give the Olympics some love. The Olympics is one of the few times that we as a country are really involved with & compete against the other countries. It is great for US to be able to unite and route for a country team. USA Hockey had a great game yesterday. Brian Burke needs to get credit for putting together a great mix of young up and coming stars and veterans, leaving some of the older vets off the roster. go USA!
