The Baltimore Orioles lost another game today. This time 5 - 2 to the Toronto Blue Jays. OK nothing new there, I know. Here is what is new.
With help from the AP I saw this...
Baltimore took a 2-1 in the sixth when
Cesar
Izturis doubled and
Julio
Lugo and
Nick
Markakis hit RBI singles.Toronto tied it in the bottom half
Hill drove Tillman's first pitch over the wall in left for his eighth
homer and second in as many days. Four of Hill's past five hits have
been home runs.
"Tillman goes out there, he's got a 2-1 lead and
he throws an 87 mile an hour fastball to try and get the first pitch
over to a guy who's an All-Star second baseman," Trembley said. "You've
got to do better than that."Tillman, recalled from Triple-A
Norfolk before the game, made his first start of the season, allowing
two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out
three."I thought I was OK," Tillman said. "I didn't think I was
great, I didn't think I was bad."
Here was Tillman's line...Tillman is 22 years old by the way...
| Pitchers | IP | H | R | ER | BB | SO | HR | PC-ST | ERA |
|---|
| C
Tillman | 5.2 | 6 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 96-60 | 3.18 |
So here is my question. Atkins and Lugo show lack of hustle and not a word is said. Batters continue to swing at poor pitches, fail to move runners up and the team is worst in the league with runners in scoring position, but not once has our manager thrown anyone under the bus...ever.
So today Dave Trembley chooses he has had enough, its not him its the players and he chooses Chris Tillman to be road-kill.
Trembley went on to say..."I've really run out of things to say," Trembley said. "I've juggled the
lineup, I've put different guys in there. We have really prepared our
guys as best as we possibly can and it just hasn't happened for us."
You could have left it there Dave. Sounds like a manager that has had it with this team. Well I have had it with him...again.
