BABE'S BIRTHDAY BASH POSTPONED ONE WEEK
DUE TO PENDING SNOW STORM
Babe Ruth Museum Moving Event to Friday, February 12
Baltimore, MD - The Babe Ruth Museum today announced that they are postponing the "Babe's Birthday Bash" event scheduled for Friday, February 5 by one week because of the pending inclement weather scheduled to arrive in the Baltimore area tomorrow. The new date for the Bash is Friday, February 12.
"Since weather forecasts are predicting the snow will begin Friday morning and continue through Saturday, we felt the appropriate thing to do was postpone the Bash by one week," stated the Museum's Executive Director Mike Gibbons. "With the potential for 12 to 20 inches of snow, our thoughts immediately centered on the safety of our guests and we did not want anyone to put themselves at risk. I'm sure Babe wouldn't mind waiting an extra week to celebrate his birthday with friends.
The event to celebrate the 115th anniversary of Ruth's birth in Baltimore will still be held at Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and take place from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Anyone who is unable to attend the event on the new date is encouraged to contact the Museum at 410.727.1539.
Additionally, the Museum has moved activities from the Babe Ruth Birthplace on Saturday, February 6 to Saturday, February 13. On that day, the Museum will show rare Babe Ruth movies at the Birthplace from 12p.m. until closing in honor of Ruth's birthday. Admission to the Birthplace will be only $3, in honor of Ruth's playing number.
