Ravens/Vikings Prediction

The Baltimore Ravens travel to Minnesota to take on Adrian Peterson and the Vikings. The Vikings are also led by a certain future Hall Of Fame quarterback as well.

The Ravens are coming off of a two-game losing streak that has made them look less than normal on offense, and the defense has been questionable more often than not.

The Vikings are 5-0 and I take nothing away from that. I don't believe in an "easy" schedule in the NFL, but the Ravens have faced much better quarterbacks in Phillip Rivers, Tom Brady, and Carson Palmer. Those three guys can make any defense look bad. Having said that, Ray Lewis and company only gave up 17 points against the Bengals.

Peterson will get his yards, but the defense will show up. They'll bend but not break against the Vikings.

The Ravens can watch the GB MINN game and see what needs to be done. Stop the run - on the way to the QB. REPEAT - Stop the run - on the way to the QB. Ced Benson hung 140 yds on the Packers - But GB held AP to 55 yds. Message: Stop fretting that the Ravens D has dropped off. Are some of them older yea, but they can still swarm. What GB didn't do was bring ANY pressure on Favre. Ray Lewis and Co. will manufacture enough pressure on Favre to knock him off-stride. His lateral movement ability is Zero. A good shove up the middle by Ngata will force discomfort in the pocket. T-Suggs on MINN rookie RT Phil Loadholt will be something else to watch as well. Gaether is a wall and will keep Jared Allen occupied. Good luck to the Ravens.

You say that Ray Lewis and the Ravens gave up only 17 points. I beg to differ where 2 dropped balls by a Bengal receiver negated 2 touch downs that was in his hands. Although you say it is the NFL, why are there teams that are 0 and 6. Stl, KC, Clv, are not representative of a true Professional NFL team this year. They are the lower lower tier. This teams will get a win when they play each other. The Ravens will prove a lot if they bet a upper tier team to justify there 3 0 start. If they lose to Minn it will justify there 3 wins by beating KC no wins, San Diego 5 key starters out, and Clv with Quina and 6 points against Buf. Min 23 and Balt 17.

These are moments when leadership counts the most. Ray Lewis has boasted and boasted about the Ravens having the best run defense in football, and last week it sure didn't seem that way. I think the Ravens swallow Peterson, knock Favre down enough to get him out of his rhythm, and keep Minnesota off the board for much of the game. Vikings score a late TD to make things interesting, but the Ravens win a largely defensive 17-10 battle.
